How Does the Soup Cleanse Work?

The soup cleanse lasts from 1 – 3 days. You will need to eat 5 – 6 bowls of soup on a daily basis. You can add veggies, healthy spices, and herbs to the soup and drink a lot of water during this detox period (1/2 of the amount of your weight in kg of water per day). Tip: Make the soup in advance so you can have soup for a couple of days.

Detox Soup Ingredients:

First of all, make a bone, miso, or vegetable broth. Then, add spices such as ginger, turmeric, cumin, garlic, cinnamon, and etc. Next, add veggies such as spinach, kale, zucchini, onions, leeks, carrots, and etc. Then, add starchy veggies such as acorn squash, potatoes, parsnips, beets, and etc. Don’t forget proteins and add nuts, beans, or lentils. You can also put coconut, olive oil, avocado, or ghee.

Detox Soup Recipes

  1. Broccoli detox soup

You need:

  • 2 ½ cups of broccoli florets
  • 3 chopped celery stalks
  • 1 chopped onion
  • A cup of spinach or kale
  • 2 peeled and chopped carrots
  • 2 cups of bone or vegetable broth
  • ½ tsp. of sea salt
  • lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. of coconut oil

Preparation: In a pot, heat the coconut oil and add the celery, broccoli, and onion. Stir and cook for 5 minutes and then add in the broth. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until all of the ingredients blend and the soup becomes thick.

  1. Ginger and carrot soup

You will need:

  • 2 kg of chopped carrots
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 6 cups of veggie or bone broth
  • 3 tbsp. of grated ginger
  • 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • Sea salt, onion, and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp. of coconut oil or ghee
  • 2 tbsp. of collagen (optional)

Preparation: Take a pan and put the ginger, carrots, garlic, and broth in it and let it boil. Then, let it simmer. Afterward, sauté the onions in it and add the ghee. Cook until the mixture becomes caramel-like. Next, blend the broth and the onions for a couple of minutes and add the coconut milk.

  1. Red lentil soup

You will need:

  • ¼ cup of olive oil, coconut oil, or ghee
  • 2 chopped potatoes
  • 1 chopped apple
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 chopped carrots
  • ½ cup of red lentils
  • ½ tsp. of ground cumin
  • ½ tsp. of chili powder
  • ½ tsp. of paprika
  • 4 ½ cups of veggie or bone broth
  • 1-inch minced ginger root
  • Black pepper and sea salt to taste

Preparation: Put the the olive oil in a pot and warm it on medium heat. Then, add the potatoes, carrots, apple, and onions and cook for additional 10 minutes. Next, add the ginger, lentils, cumin, chili powder, broth, and paprika and let it boil. Let it simmer for half an hour until everything softens.
