You’re sitting in the garden for the evening with a cold beer, but you still can’t relax? It probably has something to do with the whining that you have in your ear from mosquitoes continuously flying past that are out to get you. Of course, you can go for one of the usual insect sprays you can get at the store. But be warned: they sometimes contain dangerous substances that can affect your nervous system. Instead, you can simply create your own insect spray. For that, all you need, besides vodka, is few different types of oil.
You’ll need:
- a beaker or jug for mixing
- 2 tbsp vodka
- 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
- 10 drops lemongrass oil
- 10 drops clove oil
- 10 drops rosemary oil
- 10 drops eucalyptus oil
- a jar for storage
Here’s how:
Get a beaker in which you can mix all the ingredients. First, pour in the vodka, then add the oils, one after another. Finally, all you need to do is stir everything together and pour it into a jar with a closable lid.
Now you can rub your nonpoisonous insect repellent into your skin as and when you need to. A tip: mosquitoes often go for the wrists and ankles.
It’s really simple to keep those little pests at bay. And now you also know why it’s no bad thing to have a little vodka in the house.
