Country singer Alan Jackson’s daughter shared a touching tribute to her father that reveals a side to the star that many don’t know.
Alan Jackson has built quite the legacy in country music, earning several Grammy Awards, CMA Awards, ACM Awards, and a membership in the Grand Ole Opry. One thing he still had left to achieve was induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Now, according to CountryRebel, it has been announced that Jackson will be one of the Country Music Hall of Fame’s 2017 inductees. The humble country star says he doesn’t feel worthy of the honor.
“Even though I’ve done a lot, I still don’t feel quite worthy, but I feel like it’s an honor to qualify for what it requires to be in here with these great people,” Jackson told Rolling Stone. “I’ve always tried to make music the first priority – not being a star, not being in the spotlight, just trying to make music that I loved, that the fans like, and not compromise that to fit into something else.”
Despite Jackson not feeling worthy of the honor himself, others feel he absolutely is, like his biggest fans – his children.
Jackson’s middle daughter Ali shared a touching post honoring her father following the announcement that he was to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Ali’s post reads, “The world sees you as follows: a great musician, an impressive song writer and a talented vocalist. I see you as: my best friend, the guy that taught me that how you treat people matters more than anything else and taught me just how to stand on my own two feet,” the 23-year old writes. “You’re every daughter’s dream father. Thank you for raising us in a house filled with Jesus and music, and always making sure we knew whatever our dream was could be our reality.”
Ali’s post shows just what kind of man Alan is and how devoted he is to his family. Jackson has been married to his high school sweetheart Denise for 37 years. The couple has three daughters together and Alan credits his wife with getting his music career off the ground.
