Woman cuts off her finger to wear as a pendant on her necklace

Reynolds said she believes her pinky stump looks "cute," and has named it "wiggles."

A woman has cut off half of her pinky finger with a bolt cutter in order to wear it as a pendant around her neck.

Torz Reynolds, from Essex, England, decided to slice her finger off during Valentine’s Day of last year following a 10-year debate.

According to the Daily Mirror, Reynolds said she believes her pinky stump looks “cute,” and has named it “wiggles.”

The 30-year-old originally kept her finger in her freezer, but decided to mark the first anniversary of its removal by putting it in a vial and wearing it as necklace.

“I forgot it was there. You don’t want to waste it so why not turn it into a necklace?” Reynolds said.

“I thought a necklace would be the easiest thing to make and I wanted to do something to mark Wiggles’s first birthday,” she added.

The body piercer and taxidermist said she was inspired to amputate her finger off after see a close friend do the same.

“I thought it was really cute. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and decided to do it,” Reynolds explained.

Now she adorns her stump with miniature hats, adding to her hand’s unique appearance.

“The hats were a present from my boyfriend for Wiggles’s birthday. I thought it was brilliant, they look like they’re the Village People,” Reynolds said.

“A lot of people have said they’re awesome – everyone knows I don’t take anything seriously,” she continued.

She said chopping off half of her pinky was a difficult decision, but she’s thrilled she went through with it.

“Xav and I had a nice dinner and then I chopped it off, I numbed it first so it wasn’t too bad. I wasn’t sure if I could live without it but I can,” Reynolds said. “It hasn’t changed anything – I love it, it’s so cute. A lot of people will go and get it done professionally but I didn’t want to go through surgery.”

“My partner just said, ‘as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters.’ My family didn’t understand it but didn’t mind as long as I was safe,” she added.

This isn’t the first time Reynolds has done something zany with her body. When a former boyfriend cheated on her in 2014, she sliced off one of her tattoos on her forearm and sent it to him.

“I packaged it up so it really did look like a present,” she said. “I even used different handwriting so he’d have no idea that it was me. I can’t imagine what his reaction was. I wish I could have been there to see it.”
