- Destroy Their Home
If you are able to locate it, it is best to destroy the anthill first, and ants won’t bother you anymore. You can run the garden hose on it for 10 minutes, or pour some boiling water on it.
- Vinegar
If you are able to spot the anthill, spray some vinegar directly in it in order to destroy them. It will not kill them, but it will disrupt their sense of smell.
- A Borax-Sugar Trap
You should prepare a syrupy paste out of borax, sugar, and water, but make sure your pets or children won’t come into contact with it.
Then, you need a Tupperware to house the mixture, poke a few holes in the top and sides, and allow these 6-legged guests enjoy it until it wipes them all out.
- Cayenne Pepper
Ants love sugar, but you should give them something spicy instead. Just sprinkle a little cayenne pepper around the entrances to your home or directly onto the anthill, if you know where it is.
5. Make sure they won’t return
As soon as you have eliminated the ants, you should also make sure you eliminate any pheromones left behind. You should mix some vinegar, water, and dish soap in a spray bottle, and spray all over the places they used to live in.
