A sweet little kitty was brought into the Humane Society of Utah, where they saw that something was severely wrong. But they soon realized what the problem was. She was in labor.
“She was surrendered to us pregnant but was not doing well. Our vet determined that she needed a Cesarean,” said Deann Shepherd, Director of Marketing and Communications of HSU.
But after she was down for surgery, they made a devastating discovery. All of her babies had passed away inside her and was causing her illness.
The cat, Leche, had received the surgery to remove the kittens, and to save her life. Shortly after, she began to recover.
One of the staff members adored Leche and took her home to foster. It wasn’t long till Leche was back to her normal self. She was becoming more playful day by day.
The kitty was so loving and caring. She had a deep desire to nurture and care for someone. It was written all over her face.
She continued to get stronger, and it was clear that she was ready to go to a forever home. And that’s when a family came in at HSU and fell in love with her. Her sweet nature and loving personality grabbed the hearts of three little children.
That was all it took. The little boy fell in love with her, and they just knew that Leche was the perfect fit.
Leche may have lost her babies, but she found 3 other children to love, and she was in pure bliss.
We are so thankful that she was able to receive the lifesaving surgery! Even though she lost her babies, we are thankful she now has 3 children to love on!
