An Alabama couple was arrested for allegedly abusing their newborn twin babies.
Jordan Swenson and Marion Dycus were both arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse that reportedly went on from the time of the twins’ birth in January 2016 until April 2016. The couple was arrested on May 3 after being investigated by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
The parents were suspected of abuse after the baby boy and girl were admitted to the Children’s Hospital of Alabama and admitted to the intensive care unit. A warrant alleged that the couple did “torture, willfully abuse, cruelly beat, or otherwise willfully maltreat the child by causing physical injury which created the substantial risk of death on multiple occasions.”
Hospital workers became concerned after seeing bite marks on the baby girl’s face and noticing that she was in respiratory distress. Her twin brother reportedly had fractured ribs, and both had severe bruising on their heads and faces. The girl also had a torn frenulum — the skin underneath the tongue between the lip and gum.
The parents were held on $1 million bond after the investigation and subsequent arrest, AL.com reported.
Many readers called for the couple to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
“This is so way beyond sick. People want to say gays shouldn’t be allowed to adopt because they will be bad parents yet these two made babies in their own and did these despicable things. When will narrow minded people learn? I’d love to have ten minutes with each if these sick b****rds,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.
“Well the first thing that needs to be done if it hasn’t already happened is for both of them to be fixed. Then for the prison not to protect them by putting them in isolation, but in with the mainstream prison population with all of them knowing exactly what these two have done. I guarantee you the correct justice for these two will be doled our by other inmates,” another wrote.
“This is so horrible seems like it’s straight out of a horror movie! What in the world is wrong with these sick demented people? Why did no one see these babies to seethe abuse? No family members?” another added.
“I don’t get it,why would someone treat a baby this way,” added another reader. “God gave me two,I lost one in early pregnancy I’d give anything to have been able to have more. But people like this don’t deserve to have these beautiful gift from god.”
