After Deanna Murphy-Vests mom’s dog died while in surgery, trying to deliver more puppies after already giving birth to eight, they were heartbroken and had a struggle on their hands.
They had to feed the eight pups around the clock, making sure they were fed. It was exhausting, but then, they heard some news that could change everything.
Recently, they saw a story on the news about a dog named Daisy.
But it wasn’t a happy story, in fact, it had a bunch of people in tears. Daisy had lost her seven puppies in a barn fire earlier in the week and was devastated.
“She’s just been so sad and heartbroken. She just goes down to the barn and sits there and tries to look for them still. She quit eating,” said Christine Nelson, Daisy’s owner.
After seeing the story, Deanna had a wonderful idea.
These puppies lost their momma, and this momma lost her puppies, so why not get them together?
So the two women got in touch and the day came where Daisy finally could meet these 10-day old puppies.
The pups are Border Collies, and Daisy is half border collie too, so it was a match made in Heaven.
“It’s hard to see them go anywhere because we are very attached, but we know how our momma dog would have felt if she was in this dog’s situation,” said Murphy-Vest.
We are so happy that these puppies were united with this now extremely happy dog. It truly was beneficial to both parties and it melted all of our hearts.
