There are many people in the world that are not to be trifled with under any sort of circumstances. While some might view this as an allusion to those who are bigger and stronger than us, there are also people who have mentally and physically trained themselves for the most stressful of situations.
Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale (henceforth known as GIGN) is a group of people that you are not ever going to want to mess with. They are an organization that specializes in hostage rescue and stressful scenarios are nothing new to them.
When two robbers made their way into a McDonald’s in hopes of making a big score, they thought they had it all figured out. They fired shots into the ceiling and they were able to subdue all of the customers, making off with roughly $2,269 in the process.
However, they were given a rude awakening long before they had the chance to spend their ill gotten loot. 11 of the 40 diners in the McDonald’s that they robbed were the aforementioned GIGN group and these very skilled diners just so happened to be eating while the incident was taking place.
Since the squadron was dressed as civilians, the robbers had no idea that specialty forces were in their midst. Once the men tried to escape, they were pursued by the GIGN members and warning shots were fired. The officers wisely waited for the robbery to conclude so that no diners were hurt and the band of criminals was apprehended as a result.
GIGN values their ability to obscure their identity, so no pictures were taken of the men who saved the day. But they still deserve a great deal of recognition for their heroic deed and you will want to share this story with your closest friends and family as soon as possible.
