Here’s why you should start peeing in the shower

Two birds with one stone.

People are often ashamed to talk about normal bodily functions, especially if it concerns using the toilet. We even go out of our way to avoid using the word and instead prefer to say restroom, ladies’ room or powder room. But urine isn’t nearly as scary as we make it out to be; after all, it is primarily made up of glucose, amino acids, and electrolytes.

Nevertheless, if someone admits to peeing in the shower, he is more than likely to get a few strange looks. But really, peeing in the shower is not only completely harmless, it saves a ton of water.

Proponents of this practice estimate that many of us use up to 15 liters of water every day just to flush the toilet. If you multiply that by our population and the number of days in a year, literally tons of fresh water every year is more or less wasted. Not only is that expensive in the long run, it is bad for the environment, too!

There are some low-flow toilets on the market, but not everyone is in a position to make such an investment, as desirable as it might be. However, since most people shower daily, it makes sense to urinate and wash simultaneously. And there is a double environmentally-friendly bonus: you’ll use less toilet paper and save trees!

So many inhibitions have crept into our day-to-day lives, but the reality is, no one really needs to know if you’re peeing in the shower. So go ahead and be green and clean!
