The video clip below takes place during the morning rush at Starbucks. Over the past few months, people continue to park in front of a church parking lot rather than parking in the lot. Some people just don’t have consideration these days and they are worried about inconveniencing themselves.
Finally, a neighbor got fed up with this behavior and decided to take action.
When a hurried coffee addict parked halfway in front of the churches driveway, friendly neighbor Dale decided to go outside after the guy got out of his car. Parking in this location prevents handicap and emergency service cars from getting in. This is not okay and Dale was fed up with the behavior.
“I honestly don’t think it’s too much to ask for you to park in such a way that allows a handicapped entrance to be used, or for an emergency vehicle to be able to enter through the driveway,” Dale stated.
Dale has approached many of these perpetrators and they all respond with the same thing – “we’ll just be a minute.” The stranger was gone for so long that Dale was able to get a chair, a book, a cup of coffee, a tripod, and a camera… so clearly, they take plenty of time.
When Dale got back with the chair, he sat right in front of the man’s car, making it impossible to get out unless he moved.
The moment of truth is captured in the video below. The man comes out of Starbucks with his coffee in hand and goes straight for his car. Dale doesn’t budge an inch. When the stranger finally asks Dale if he’s going to move, Dale simply responded, “I’ll be just a minute.”
The protest was peaceful and fairly quick, but it was definitely enough to scare the driver. Although I wonder how the situation would’ve ended if Dale stayed there for a little bit longer.
The good thing is that guy probably won’t be parking there again and it’s likely that Dale will do the same for other people who continue to block the entrance too.
