When you’re young, your parents tell you not to ever “get candy from a guy in a van” or to help a stranger look for their lost dog, or at least mine did. But sometimes, children don’t understand that, and with pure innocent hearts, they fall for it anyway.
Word quickly spread through the neighborhood that little 5 yr old Jocelyn Rojas had been kidnapped from the front of her grandmothers home. The man had lured her into his vehicle, promising her ice cream, then proceeded to grab her neck and shove her inside.
A search party was formed, and they even blocked off streets. Even canines were brought in, set to help search for the girl block by block. But it was 2 very brave young men who helped save this young girls life.
Temar and Chris decided that they were going to hop on their bikes and look for the girl themselves. The boys being 15 years old, were not planning on this adventure, but were up for anything…including saving a little girls life. And that’s just what they did.
Nearly half a mile from her home, the boys spotted a maroon sedan, the same vehicle that was used in the kidnapping, with a very suspicious driver.
“Every time we’d go down the street, he’d turn back around, and then…we’ll follow him,” said Temar.
For 15 minutes, these young men chased the car, determined to find out if this was the car that contained Jocelyn and the kidnapper.
Temar pulled his bike right next to the kidnapper in the car, and then immediately suspected that this could be the man that everyone was looking for. And with all the courage he could possess, Temar looked into the man’s eyes, and said three little, strong words, “I see you.”
And then a miracle happened. Something that never happens in kidnapping cases…the man just let Jocelyn go.
“He stopped at the end of the hill and let her out, and she ran to me and said that she needed her mom,” commented Temar.
No one knows for sure if the kidnapper gave up because the boys were following him, but whatever the cause, we are just glad to know that Jocelyn is safe, and her friends and family can’t thank the young men enough for saving the little girl.
The next day, the kidnapper was caught thanks to a vivid description given to the police by the two young boys. We are so thankful that these boys were able to safely bring Jocelyn home, and we wish them the best, as well a speedy recovery for Jocelyn, as we cannot imagine how traumatizing that must have been for the poor girl.
If you are thankful that these two boys got on the bikes, and were able to save Jocelyn, then SHARE this post!
