As we age, our skin produces less oil and heals slower. The inner layer of the skin begins to thin and our skin holds on to less moisture. Well, these factors can contribute to wrinkles. However, there are other factors that can cause wrinkles, such as smoking, sun damage, and facial muscle contractions.
Facial Muscle Contractions and Wrinkles
The frown lines and those jutting from the eyes corner are caused by facial muscle contractions. Smiling, squinting, and frowning make these wrinkles more visible.
Sun Damage and Wrinkles
Excessive exposure to the sun can damage your skin and cause wrinkles. So, to prevent them, make sure not to expose yourself to sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Also, it is very important to use a sunscreen even on cloudy days!
Smoking and Wrinkles
Smoking can reduce the production of collagen, an important part of the structure of the skin. Deficiency of collagen can lead to wrinkles. These days, women are affected by stubborn facial hair which is very difficult to get rid of.
