Adriana Cardoso from Brazil thought her daughter Ana was joking at first. The 10-year-old girl claimed something was “crawling in her gums” and she just wouldn’t let it go. So, they went to the dentist together. What the dentists found in her mouth is completely disgusting. Warning: This video is not for the faint of heart!
The dentists couldn’t even believe it. They pulled 15 living maggots, one after the other, out of Ana’s mouth. The office decided to film it all to save in their own archives. Myiasis, as it is referred to, can infect anyone and the doctors warned to take every case like this very seriously. It’s more common to see infestations in people who live in tropical regions, but vacationers can also come home with these maggots under their skin. Thankfully Ana’s nightmare is over, but anytime you or a loved one feels itching or pain underneath the skin, it’s important to go see a doctor. So nasty – I’m itchy all over just thinking about it.
