Use Baking Soda in This Way to Fight Cold and Flu Naturally

Great benefits!

One of your goals for this fall should be avoiding colds and flu.

The season for these common illnesses begins the moment the weather starts to cool down. So, you should do whatever it takes to protect yourself from colds and flu this fall and winter.

One great way to do that is using the common baking soda you keep in your pantry.

Thanks to its high alkaline nature, baking soda reduces acidosis and alkalizes the entire body. It works by neutralizing any acidity in your body, thus balancing your bloodstream and body’s pH levels.

According to Dr. Volney S. Cheney, the author of the 1924 “Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Medical Uses,” sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda, showed clinical success when used in the treatment of colds and flu.

He explains that back in the flu season of 1918-1919, those who used baking soda to alkalize their body didn’t catch the disease. Also, those who did catch it, had mild attacks if alkalized early.

So, Dr. Cheney has been giving generous doses of baking soda or sodium bicarbonate to treat all cases of cold, LaGripe, and influenza ever since that period. In most cases, the symptoms disappeared completely within 36 hours.

Therefore, he started advocating the use of baking soda for prevention of colds in his own house. This was before Parent-Teachers’ Associations and Woman’s Clubs.

He wanted to spread the word that people who took sodium bicarbonate were not affected by the flu, while everyone around had it.

And, those who did listen to his advice and took baking soda every day, reported having avoided the flu while it was rampaging through their schools.

How to Use Baking Soda to Fight Colds and the Flu

Even though this easy treatment to prevent colds and flues was used during the 1920s, it’s been forgotten by today’s modern society. Here’s how the Arm & Hammer Company method dating from 1925 works:

All you need to do is add the recommended amount of baking soda in a glass of cold water and mix well to dissolve it. Then, just drink the solution.

The Right Dosage

#1 Day – Dissolve 6 doses of ½ a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in a cup of cool water. Drink at 2 hour intervals.

#2 Day – Repeat the same procedure as day one, but this time take only 4 doses.

#3 Day – Drink just 2 doses, in the morning and before going to bed.

#4 Day – Drink just one dose in the morning, and continue doing so until your cold or flu symptoms are relieved.
